LEAGUE 1: CHARLTON v ACCRINGTON STANLEY PREVIEW AND OPINION

KICK OFF TIME:

7:45pm at The Valley, Live on Sky sports (Main event + Football)

TEAM NEWS:

Charlton will be without Darren Pratley who is suspended after his red card at Hull whilst Ben Watson is injured. New signings Ronnie Schwartz and Liam Millar could feature, while striker Chuks Aneke is back from a ban and will be included in the squad.

Accrington may not choose to risk Ross Sykes who is struggling with a knock, whilst an unidentified player has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss out for the visitors.

PREDICTION:

Charlton have only lost once in their previous 7 home games, but Accrington Stanley have been deadly on the road lately notching up 10 goals in their last four League 1 away games. They haven't lost many either, their only defeat in their last 5 away games coming at Wigan Athletic where they were beaten 4-3.

The home side are very unpredictable, but you do have to think that they will come good and start to put together another good run of form like they did at the start of the season. The Chairman is backing Lee Bowyer in the transfer market and the Addicks boss will be desperate to repay that faith and get his side back into contention to challenge for that top 2 spot. There is certainly plenty of time for that to happen.

Despite Charlton being dodgy lately and Accrington being hard to beat on the road, I think this one ends in a home win and I will go for a comfortable 2-0 score with a goal in either half.
