BRENTFORD v BARNSLEY 14.02.21
I hope that we will manage to keep our unbeaten streak going today against the mid table Barnsley side.
Even though this Barnsley side sit mid table they did give Chelsea a really good run for there money which is good and bad for us as it means they will be quite high in confidence however they will have had less time to prepare.
We have looked really good going forward recently however our defending from set pieces just hasn’t been good enough, as well as our starts to games as we have seemed to need to concede first in order to wake up!
As for my predictions; I believe that if we are awake from the off and defend well against set pieces we can take the three points relatively easy therefore I’m going to say 3-1 bees!
It’s a tough game for the reds this weekend, as The Tykes face The Bees.
Barnsley come into the game after a defeat at home against Chelsea despite a very good performance. However Barnsley are yet to win a game in the Championship this year, their last win at Rotherham in late December.
Brentford are undefeated in their last 21 championship games, who currently sit at the top of the championship, having lost only three league game this season!
Barnsley and Brentford have both faced each other this season however at Oakwell, ending in a one nil defeat for Barnsley. Last time Barnsley took on Brentford in London, they pulled off “the great escape” and survived in the last game to avoid relegation.
It’s Ivan Toney that Barnsley need to watch out for this season, 23 goals in 32 games. Cauley Woodrow is Barnsley’s top scorer and key man, grabbing 11 goals this season. However, skipper Alex Mowatt, is a very dangerous midfielder who Barnsley are trying to keep hold of. A tough test for Barnsley, but if they show another performance like they did against Chelsea, then they could have a decent chance. But won’t be surprised to see Brentford win this one.
