MILLWALL v BIRMINGHAM 17.02.21
The lions head into this one in fine form on the back of 2 straight victories and only 1 loss in our last 8 games in the Championship.
Our home form has been poor all season until recently, last time at The Den we beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-1 and we have to build on that and pick up another 3 points tonight. Good home form has always been part of any successful Millwall season, so to see us with only TWO wins at home in the League at the minute is very frustrating and FAR from good enough.
The only plus we can take is that we have only lost THREE at home so we aren't losing many, we just have to turn those draws into wins and we will be alright. Away from home we have been brilliant overall.
Any Millwall fan should know we often struggle when faced with sides at the bottom of the table and we usually do well against those at the top, so this game fills me with a bit of anxiousness coming into it. It would be just like Millwall to get their fans all excited and optimistic following 2 good wins, only to see it all come crashing down in spectacular fashion and give us all a reality check. I think that's why I'm such a pessimist, I have seen it all before many times in the last 28 years I have been following us.
I think Rowett will make a few changes to the side what started at Reading. I would love it if he finished with the side that ended the game as we looked far better in the second half with 4 at the back instead of 5, and in particular once Matt Smith was on the pitch..... AGAIN! Gary Rowett's stubborn attitude and refusal to start the big man is pissing off many Millwall fans. We know he cant run, we know he cant press, but he scores goals and needs to be starting more games. I think after his goal at the weekend and obvious frustration towards Rowett in his celebration where he kicked the ball in his direction and gave him a glaring stare, he will simply have to pick him for this.
Below is my predicted starting 11.
Finally my prediction... I would like to think we have turned a corner and will beat a struggling Birmingham side, but as I mentioned, I have been here before.
With that said I will remain cautiously optimistic and go for a 1-1 draw.
Obviously blues are not on a great run at the moment this season with only 1 win in 13 and We have struggled with lack of goals and lack of being able to not Concede them with the blues only scoring 7 in them 13 , and also conceding 24 in them 13.
We face Millwall Tomorrow who are on a decent run in the league, With 6 unbeaten and won both there last 2 games.
Unsurprisingly I don’t think we will win tomorrow, I believe tomorrow’s game will be a lot more entertaining than What we have seen lately As blues have been nagging on about how we are not going at opponents And Trying to win The game so because of the pressure Karanka Is under I believe He will probably do that but you never know as It is Karanka and he does the dumbest thing possible Most of the time.
We are still yet to really see Cosgrove play this season who is meant to be a very good hold up player and Shooter from outside the box, he is also a very big 6ft3 striker so will be Good in the air as well, So I hope to see him start And give Millwall a go.
My score prediction for tomorrow’s game Is a tough one as it could go either way If we go for the win, but I’m gonna say a 1-0 win to Millwall, but if we play 2 up front we could most definitely be on the other side of that result!!
